Psalm 46:1
When first learning about Gordon's heart defects at MUSC this verse was in one of the gift boxes we were given. It holds a very special place in my heart and I am just repeating these words over and over:)
"God is our refuge and strength, and ever present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1
Intervention
As soon as I finished the last update they called me and told me that Gordon needed some intervebtion and that Dr. Perry was ballooning some of his arteries. Please pray pray pray that his little heart and arteries will respond well to this intervention and that it will not cause any damage to his heart or lungs.
No update yet...
Gordon and Adda hanging out in the pre-op unit!
Missing our sweet Max!
Waiting for the versed (pre-med) to kick in!
Daddy and Gordon dressed ready to go to the Cath Lab.
Arnold is always the trooper and walks him back to the room dressed like a bunny:) Now we wait in the family surgery center.
Thank you for praying! Will update as soon as we know something!
Going back !
Gordon is getting ready to go back to the Cath Lab in a few minutes. They said they expect the procedure to take 2-3 hours with no interventions. If intervention is needed it may take longer. I will update y'all as soon as we get an update:) Thank you all for lifting up our sweet boy in prayer over the next few hours.
Back in CA
So this was my blog a long time ago when Max was our only child hence the name According to Max. Things have changed a ton since then and I will get to making those changes here soon. Many of you followed our CaringBridge last July when we first found out Gordon had three very life threatening heart defects. It has been a very long time since I have updated it and for that I am so sorry. Due to legal counsel I was advised to not post for quite some time. That is no longer the case and I would love for each of you to follow us here on the blog!
I just wanted to get a quick update out there to let you all know that we are back in CA. We (Arnold, Me, Gordon, and Adda) flew into San Jose on Thursday July 31st. We had a very smooth trip here, thank God. We are here for a yearly routine check up. On Friday August 1st Gordon had clinic visits and pre-op appointments. Tomorrow Gordon will be having a heart catheterization at 1pm PST (4pm back home). As you can only imagine the nerves are flowing and I am one nervous mama! I will be posting updates here throughout the day.
How can we pray:
Pray for Gordon's heart, lungs, and arteries all to be in great shape and not need any intervention while in the Cath Lab.
Pray for wisdom for the doctors and nurses.
Pray for his peace and comfort as he wakes up from anesthesia.
Pray that God will give us the peace and strength that can only come from him.
Thank you all for your constant outpouring of love and prayers for our family. Keep the prayers coming. We love you all!
"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, and establish you". 1 Peter 5:10
P.S.- Sometime tomorrow when Gordon is in the OR I will try and post the story of what happened to Adda.

FUN NEWS!!!
I have some outstanding news to share. Your Aunt Brooke and Uncle Derrick who are also your God parents are expecting a little baby of their own. We're so excited!!!! Aunt Brookie is the sister I never had, and I am so excited to embark on this journey with her. Aunt Brooke was there for me every step of the way when I found out I was going to be your Mommy! I cannot wait to do the same for her. They are due on January 12, 2012. What a cool due date of 1/12/12! I know you do not know what all this means quite yet, but one day you will understand. Daddy and I love them more than words can express and just know that they will be awesome parents!

Love them!
Praise God that Mommy and baby are perfectly healthy!
Seafood Fest
The month of May has absolutely flown by. There are so many things we did in the beginning of May that feel like an eternity ago. One of the fun things we did was go to the Seafood Fest. This was such a hot and fun day. Mommy was nannying for Delaney so all three of us went with BiBi to the fest. We found a nice table in the shade and enjoyed fresh seafood of all kinds. They had a band playing and even held crab races.
Delaney waiting for the races to start
Ours was the yellow soccer ball crab
and their off!
Announcing the winners...we didn't win :(
Loving the Parmesan Shoestring fries.
and fresh pineapple from Truffles
